Join us for the first Ocean State Bluegrass Festival & Pick-nic on Saturday and Sunday, September 14 and 15, 2019 at Frerichs Farm, 43 Kinnicutt Ave., Warren, Rhode Island. This is a Rhode Island Bluegrass Alliance event.
SATURDAY
Saturday's festival will feature three bands from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm: Ocean State Ramblers, Bend in the River, and Pretty Saro. Gates open at 3:00 pm.
Saturday food vendors: Little B's BBQ and Muzzled Hotdogs.
Show admission: $15. Bring a lawn chair. Admission is free for children 14 years old and younger with an adult admission.
Camping: $25 for a site and show admission for one person. Additional people at one site - $15. Dry camping only.
On-line ticket sales are now closed. Tickets may be purchased on-site.
SUNDAY
Sunday will be the annual RIBA Pick-nic with picking, raffles, food, and workshops beginning at 11:00 am.
Sunday food vendors: Haven Brothers and Muzzled Hotdogs.
Workshop schedule:
12:00 - 12:45 - From Jam to Band: A Panel Discussion with the Ocean State Ramblers. Leaders Anne-Marie Forer, Dave O'Connell, Diane Petit, and Stephen Dyer will share their story about how they evolved from friends who met at bluegrass jams to a band.
12:00 - on-going - Slow Jam. Leader: Erin Dube.
12:45 - 1:30 - Mandolin. Leaders: Billy Thibodeau and Sal Sauco.
1:30 - 2:15 - Banjo. Leaders: Jessie Burdick, Larry Neu and Richard Guilbault.
2:15 - 3:00 - Guitar. Leaders: Ken Thomas and Billy Thibodeau.
3:00 - 3:45 - Fiddle. Leader: Tom Pritchard.
Sunday admission: No charge and no pre-registration required. (There will be a $5 parking fee for non-campers).
