An update from RIBA

Thank you for your support of the Rhode Island Bluegrass Alliance. We are proud of our accomplishments to date and are appreciative of your continued support.

The current pandemic has affected everyone, and we want to extend our hopes that you and your loved ones are healthy and safe.

As an organization whose main aim is to bring together those who love and appreciate bluegrass music, the current lockdowns and social distancing restrictions, while necessary and beneficial, have caused a major disruption in our programs. We know, however, that our community of bluegrass enthusiasts is still strong despite our current, temporary inability to get together in person.

We have suspended planned events for 2020 and are preparing to resume as soon as it is safe and permissible to do so. When we come through this pandemic, we will resume such planned events as our Hall of Fame and the Ocean State Bluegrass Festival and Pick-nic, as well as other regular events and new ones. Please be patient. Our online resources -- the RIBA website (www.ribluegrass.org) and our Facebook page -- remain active and we are eager to answer any questions or suggestions posted on either platform.

Due to our lack of programming for 2020, we decided at our August board meeting to extend membership dues paid last year into the current year without requiring payment for the current year. If you wish to pay for this year’s membership, we will accept the payment as a donation with our deepest gratitude.

If you purchased a ticket to the cancelled 2020 Hall of Fame induction ceremony, we will honor the ticket when the event is rescheduled next year, or you may request a refund.

We are looking forward to the time when we can safely gather again to celebrate bluegrass music. Please stay in touch with us and other enthusiasts.

Be safe and stay well.
