How much do tickets cost?
A Festival + Camping ticket is $50. This ticket includes one camping space for the duration of the event (Friday evening through Sunday afternoon) and all activities, workshops and show admission for one person, and parking for one vehicle (one RV or one car, if camper or tent camping) at the camp site. Additional people staying at the same camp site must purchase a Festival ticket and additional vehicles are $5 and must park in the parking field. Dry camping only (no water or electrical hookups available).
A Festival ticket is $35. This ticket includes all activities, workshops and show admission for one person. It does not include camping or parking. Admission is free for children 14 years old and younger.
Parking is $5 per vehicle, per day (collected on-site). Note: If you are camping, parking for one RV or one car is included in your Festival + Camping ticket.
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased online by credit card or PayPal. Tickets may also be purchased at the gate by cash, check, credit card or PayPal.
Is there a special ticket price for children?
This is no charge for children 14 years old and younger.
Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are not refundable, except in the unlikely event the festival is cancelled.
Can I reserve a specific seat?
No, seating is general admission only. Chairs are not provided, so bring a lawn chair. There will also be limited stadium seating.
Where will the event be held?
The Ocean State Bluegrass Festival is held at Frerichs Farm 65 Kinnicutt Ave, Warren, RI in Warren, Rhode Island. The festival will be held outdoors in a field on the farm. There will be large tents for the show, food, and workshop areas to provide shade and shelter in case of rain.
Where should I park?
Parking is in a field on the farm. Follow signs on Kinnicutt Avenue. A greeter will be at the gate to collect your parking fee and direct you to a space.
Can I leave and come back later in the day or evening?
You can leave and return during the event. You'll be given a wrist band when you arrive. If you need to leave, just show your wrist band for re-entry.
Will food be available?
Food and soft drinks will be available Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and evening, and Sunday afternoon. You are welcome to bring your own food.
Is lodging available?
In addition to camping on-site, there are also hotels in the area.
What is the event schedule?
Friday - Gates open at 4:00 pm. Activities include jamming, an open mic, and camping. Food will be available.
Saturday - Gates open at 10:00 am. Workshops start at 11:00 noon. Jamming all day. The bluegrass show, which starts at 6:00 pm, will feature four bands: Thunder and Rain, JB and Cardineau Sin, Simon Brogie & the XLTs, and Ernie Loiselle and Friends. Food will be available in the afternoon and evening.
Sunday - Activities start at 11:00 am and will include an instructional jam, Band Scramble, jamming, raffles. Food will be available in the afternoon.
Will there be workshops?
We are planning hands-on workshops focused on bluegrass instruments including guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, and upright bass, as well as vocals and jamming skills. The schedule will be announced later.
Will there be jamming? Can I bring my instrument?
Yes, attendees are welcome to jam. Feel free to bring your instrument! There will be both organized and impromptu jams throughout the weekend.
Will there be an instrument check?
No. Please keep your instrument with you or secure it in your car or camper.
What should I bring to the festival?
Bring a lawn chair for the show. If you will be jamming, bring a picking chair and your instrument(s). We also recommend bringing bug spray, sunscreen, rain gear, and a flashlight.
Are utilities provided in the camping area?
It is dry camping only (no water or electric).
Are dogs allow?
Dogs on a leash are welcome.
Can I have a fire at my campsite?
No. Open fires are not permitted.
What happens if it rains?
The festival will be held rain or shine. There will be large tents for the show, workshops, and food area.
